LSES Response Centre Revamp

Lamor Swire Environmental Solutions has enhanced the layout of its Jebel Ali Response Base.

In line with the Company’s desire to constantly improve its systems and procedures, in November, LSES spent three weeks re-organising and testing every piece of its response equipment inventory. The response base now looks and operates better than ever before.

All 76 power packs (of sizes ranging from the LPP 6 to the LPP 110 models) were tested and organized ready for immediate response; as were the 45 skimmers which range from the light weight minimax 12 model to the Large Free Floating Skimmer (LFF 100 2C) type. In addition to the power pack and skimmer range, all 12,000m of boom was checked as was the full catalogue of pumps which range of from the GTA 20 model up to the large GTA 115 (which are able to pump oily water 115m vertically). All ancillaries and additional equipment including the Company’s five landing craft (two with bow mounted skimmers) were tested and again, certified for immediate deployment.

Inchcape Shipping Services continue as LSES’s warehouse manager and freight forwarder; Inchcape remain an excellent and vital cog in LSES’s service provision. After its first full year of trading, LSES has learnt much; comments from clients, response partners and suppliers have all been noted and consequently LSES’s operations are better than ever before: Response times have been shortened; packages have been made more flexible when necessary and, due to popular request, an annual or project based retainer system has been established.
