LSES at Middle East Workboats Show 2009

On Tuesday 6th October, Tom Campbell delivered a presentation on the “Lessons Learnt from the Pacific Adventurer Spill” to the Conference delegates at the Seatrade organised Middle East Workboats Show held in Abu Dhabi 05th October – 07th October.

The presentation covers LSES’s experiences and insights from the incident. It aims to advise and assist other shipping companies, oil companies and municipalities on how to react to an oil spill outlining all phases of the response but also looking at preparedness.

In the short term, both Grant and Dean will be helping the LSES response base team with the re-organisation of the company’s oil spill response kit located at the Jebel Ali response base. The improvements will ensure a speedier response time from the base as well as a greater volume of equipment on display and immediately ready to respond to any incidents whether they are in the local area or farther afield.
