LSES CONTRACTED TO ASSIST IN WRECK REMOVAL OF THE DEMAS VICTORY

On 4th July 2009, LSES was contracted by Mubarak Marine to assist in the wreck removal of the Demas Victory; a 30m LOA vessel which sank in a recent storm 10nm from Doha Port in Qatar.

LSES designed a bespoke Tier 1 oil spill response package especially for this salvage. The pack included:

• 400m of foam filled boom

• 400m of sorbent boom

• 1 Lamor brush skimmer rated at 30cbm per hour with 2 power packs

• various decontamination requirements, PPE and other OSR ancillaries

Oil fate modelling and other consultancy had been provided immediately upon engagement and LSES oil spill consultant, Lee Grant, was mobilised with the equipment.
